And here we are, the second edition of The Sunday News. Happy post-Christmas-ness!
I hope y’all got whatever it is that you wanted for Christmas and enjoyed some relaxing time. Unfortunately for me, the weekend after Christmas has been full of lots of work… Ew. At least work means money, and most of that money is spent on my cars, which means things to write about!
Introducing my first give-away!
Sorry, I’m so excited that I want to start off with my first give-away! I could have done this before Christmas, but I wanted to add some post-holiday excitement to the mix.
At the Miata club Christmas party, we were given some Adrenaline Racing gift certificates… And somehow, I ended up coming home with a TON. I’m never going to use them, and I don’t know anyone else around here who would, so I want to give the readers here a chance to save a few bucks.
Unfortunately, Adrenaline Racing isn’t a huge huge company, so please make sure to check the site before thinking you’re scoring something insanely useful. If you’re in the market for some brakes, this is probably the best use for it. My favorite listed product is the Ultralap Timing System receiver, which would be useful for all those track-lovers out there like me.
If I’ve managed to pique your interest, hit me up with an email: foxieness(at)gmail(dot)com and let me know which you’d like and where to send it. I have the following:
- $10 off any purchase — x3
- $25 off any purchase over $50 — x2 x1
- $50 off any Adrenaline Racing brake package — x2
No worries, 2010 will be full of surprises so who knows if there will be more give-aways or not.
Car Updates
Also exciting news on my car fronts here….
The company I bought my red top SR20DET engine from received our turbo and has sent out the replacement, yaaaaaaaay! I am super, super, super excited to get the turbo. Granted everything works, we will finally have her up and running and will be bringing her home! I miss my baby dearly and haven’t seen her in a few weeks. I cannot wait to drive her.
We also have new turbo lines to go with the turbo, the boost gauge has come in, and I’ve bought a new gauge cluster off of ebay that should work with the new engine. Yippee! I’m looking forward to thinking about modifying my SR20, not just getting it running. (The engine runs fine, other than the whole blown turbo thing.)
For the Miata, I got a phone call last week about the rear finish panel I placed an order for back in September. We were rear-ended by a dump truck, which scratched her bumper, broke one of her tail lights and left a big hole in the plastic rear finish panel. I covered up some of the scratches with an illest sticker, got a new tail light from our mechanic and placed the order for the out-of-stock panel.
I’d all but given up hope when this news came, so it was a Merry Christmas surprise for the Miata that she’ll be all fixed soon! Panel is due to come in on the 30th, and will be left black. Granted that the black doesn’t clash too bad with the blue, I’ll be looking into a spoiler and fender flares that will also be black.
Sharing Some Loves
Awesome blogger Dave over at Stance Is Everything put together a great list of 12 automotive blogs he follows… And I was on it! I’m pretty stoked, because I was listed along blogs I already follow, such as HellaFlush (where I seem to have my own group of haters now, how exciting), MotorMavens and Speedhunters, but also got to find a couple of new ones to follow.
He found me before I found him, but I’ve been following him ever since and let me say, he’s a really cool guy.
(And I mean it whole-heartedly!) Theme Tuesdays are always fun to see what’s up, and WTF Fridays are pretty great too. There aren’t many bloggers out there that you can interact with, but Dave’s definitely one of them. So go visit him and check out the other blogs, or give my blog roll over there some browsing. I try to offer up a variety of automotive blogs so that you can find anything to suit your taste. I like them all in different ways.
In other news…
I split up the old “My Other Girls” page and created a new page for each the 240SX and the S2000. With the engine swap, the 240SX became a pretty intense project quickly, and she needs her own page for space. I’m working on listing off the mods we’ve done, which are pretty extensive…
I’m also planning a possible redesign in 2010, and I plan on moving to paid hosting and off of wordpress.com. I don’t plan on that right away, but this is the first warning that it will be coming and may get messy. I plan on hiring someone to help me with it all, as I have zero experience with paid hosting and all that jazz, and would rather it go nice and smoothly without killing my blog.
At that time, I will be open to paid advertising at my own discretion, to help cover the admin costs of the blog. I know not everyone likes ads, but when I’m paying for hosting I’d like to try and recoup some of that cost. And yeah, I’d like to be a paid blogger someday, but I won’t do it via a bunch of intrusive ads. Promise!
Have a safe & happy New Year!
And that concludes the Post-Christmas Edition of The Sunday News, thanks for stopping by!
I hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year’s! (No drinking & driving please! Keep the roads safe for everyone.)

Wow, I didn’t know that you had that huge hole with the bumper scratches glad to hear you got it sorted out. Dump trucks are the worst in front and behind it would seem.
Thanks for the link back
Yeah, after a couple months I nearly got used to it. Perfect paint was never her strong suit so it didn’t bother me too much, but she’ll be better soon. The bumper doesn’t bother me so much, and I may end up stickering it to death anyhow… (All the stickered lips are cool to me, but a bumper would be a huge undertaking ha. And I wouldn’t want to hate it half-way through either.)
HellaFlush is a cesspool.
LOL, the bloggers are way cool, but some of those commenters… Just a bunch of icky fan-boi types, which I dislike extremely.
I would nearly swear you’re the only soul I’ve run into who openly dislikes it, though. How very refreshing.
(Adding you to the blogroll now for sure.)
