The Fords I Wouldn't Hesitate To Own

April 9th, 2010 · 3 Comments · Cars I want...

And I’m totally not kidding, either. I can’t really tell you why these cars make me so giddy, but I can assure you that I would own one in a heartbeat if I got the chance.

Sadly, most people don’t know about these cars, or even Ford’s newer cars. Ford Fiesta? I don’t think most Americans know about that car, yet I absolutely love the new Fiesta. The Focus RS? Few people know what that is, either. (And you won’t see it in the states because it’s faster than the Mustang. Serious.) There are some of my favorites in the States, however…. And dammit, I want one!!

Yet, it’s the older Fords that get me. My Dad had an old 80-something Ford Escort hatchback, a tiny car that had a manual transmission. It’s probably the one car I remember my parents owning that, looking back on it, I really loved it. Can’t tell you why, exactly, but I remember loving the chances I got to take a ride in it. Funny how these things turn out, that later on I come to love cars and fondly remember what we referred to as a “junker” at the time.

Instead of writing more sappy words, I’ll let some pictures do the talking! Meet my Ford lusts…. The Ford Escort Cosworth and Ford Sierra Cosworth! ;) (Of course there was a catch! I wouldn’t like just any Ford….!)

Edit 4/9: Anyone want to donate all $23k or some to help me buy this car? One for sale here, in the States! :D (Thanks, enabler, haha. ;) )

Ford Escort Cosworths

How could you not want this?!

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaant!

When they look like this, they look so much more badass...

Crazy, just how I like it in this case....

Ford Sierra Cosworths

Beautiful.....!!

It's nice, not as crazy as the Escort Cossie I think.

She's ready to go!

Finding these pics makes me want one even more, sigh...

Please note, as with my other posts, all photos are linked to the source of the photo, dug up by google. Thanks!

In 2007, Meg began learning about cars. Two years later, she had a very modified '97 Miata and a '90 240SX project car, as well as the Rookie of the Year autocross title. Life now completely revolves around cars and she wouldn't have it any other way. CarsxGirl is her way to encourage others to get into racing (it's not horribly expensive!), to document & share her car builds, an outlet to share & improve her automotive photography skills and to show that real car girls do exist!

Guess looking back now, we should have kept the “junker”. Dad and I still get a good laugh when talk about it and both you kids loved that car. It was nice too since Dad was able to do most of the maintenance on it without too much trouble. It was a good little car for $700! Wish we could find one like that again that isn’t beaten the crap out of!

Why don’t you get one of those Mekur XR4ti’s?? I believe they are the same car. A lot cheaper too. Back in NY one of those politely handed my @SS to me. Didn’t know what it was back then.

It may be worth looking into, haha, if I can find one… I’m still a HUGE sucker for the Sierra Cosworth. I liked the Escort Cossies for a long time, then the Sierra Cossies grew on me majorly…

Next car is the husband’s project (EK hatch), then I’ll be finding either a 240Z chassis to work with or an old, classic Austin Mini chassis… :) I think.
