I wish I could tell you all about the very tiny car show that I went to. I suppose that, in fact, I really could…
But I don’t exactly have any awesome pictures to share.
Ugh
The night before the car show, I had to take my 365 Project photo for April 30th. It was kinda dark, so I had a lower shutter speed to compensate for the lack of light I had when I was taking a picture of my newest Choro-Q’s.
Well….
I kinda forgot that my shutter speed was 1/20. That’s plenty to get good light, so all of my histograms looked great from the car show. The issue was that it started sprinkling.
Holding an umbrella while trying to take pictures and not get soaked does NOT work. I found that out the hard way.
Lesson Learned
I didn’t realize what I had done until I got home and was like, “Ew, wtf did I do to take so many blurry pictures?!” So yeah…
And even the shots that I did get weren’t quite what I’m going for. I know I can do better than what I did, which kinda sucks. But with the rain and the wetness and all, I felt really off. It just wasn’t my day.
What I learned was this: No matter what, take a lot of pictures. Then realize that just because you take a ton of pictures doesn’t mean you’ll get a ton of good pictures. As long as you get some good pictures.
The Good Ones
I didn’t get anything great at the car show, but one of the cars that wasn’t in the show I managed to get some good snaps of… Happens to be an old Corolla wagon that I adore.
The other is when we found ourselves in a tiny car dealership with an NSX and a Carrera cabriolet. Just a shame the Aston Martin they had was tucked away and we couldn’t go see her… (Or maybe I’d have been more upset that pictures of a car like that didn’t turn out? Who knows.)
All I know is despite a day full of bad pictures, I quite like these two!
