One of the best things we found out at the local auto show was that every third Saturday of the month, the local Porsche owners gather at the Porsche dealership to chat cars and have coffee and donuts.
While not something I’d think of “crashing,” being personally invited was a whole other story. It was not something I could turn down, and it just so happened that I only had to wait a week. (Longest week ever, I swear. Or at least one of them.)
Porsche Owners
The best thing about Porsche owners is that they like anyone who is as enthusiastic about their cars as they are. I’ve never met a bunch of people who were more willing to take in enthusiasts who are still looking for the car and don’t currently have one.
Down in Arkansas, we were well adopted by many members of the Porsche Club of the Ozarks. I’m really sad that we never went on any events with them.
Here I hope to change that. At the very least in the manner of taking photos for the club. It was definitely cool to be invited to post my photos on the dealership’s Facebook page and to make sure we come back in May when they’re due for another nice shipment of cars.
Despite the Cold…
Despite the winter weather there was a nice turnout of cars. Apparently it gets even better when the weather warms up… Definitely can’t wait for that then.
And like I said, I’m hoping I can tag along to some other events and play photographer. It’s a bit easier when you don’t have to keep track of your own car too! (It’s almost impossible to be racing AND taking photos, haha.)
Though it may be a while until I can officially be a member of the Porsche Club of America.
Photos
At the very least, we can hang out with the people and their cars every third Saturday of the month. Which is when I imagine I’ll be taking plenty of pictures and we’ll be working on acquiring more 911 knowledge as we work on finding one that fits what we want.

Pretty new Cayman S in the show room.

Pretty new Boxster and Targa 4S.

These were my absolute favorites, of course!!

Very nice 996 that's daily driven. Even in the snow.

Perhaps the only 911 that I may have loved more than the classic 911's... I L-O-V-E 911 Turbo's.

Same 997 Turbo, just from the front. (The headlight had some ice on it, that's all.)

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo love that face!

I have a huge weakness for whale tail-outfitted 911's. I aspire to own one of these someday.

After watching a little film on how these were built, it was that much more special to see her in person.

What can I say? I just like how this photo turned out.

We weren't the only ones to not show up in a Porsche! (His was just at home though, lol.)
