Cars X Girl

Totally spaced on having a post ready for today… Sooooooo here’s a quick story from my weekend!

On Saturday a friend and I went to a flea market with another friend, and after that decided to check out some of the garage sales in the area. Harmless idea, and these girls aren’t really into cars much at all. I was expecting a day of vintage goodies, a bit of yummy food & maybe a few great treasures.

I mean, check out my yummy breakfast!

Anyhow, we pulled up to one fairly large sale in front of a rather large house. We were just starting to look when I heard a guy joking with the lady who was running the sale if her convertible Jaguar was for sale, which she jokingly replied with a number but wasn’t serious.

I instantly perked up. Convertible Jaguar? I expected to peek in the garage and see one of the slightly older Jaguars sporting a vinyl top, something nice to look at but nothing major.

Imagine my shock when I looked up and came face to face with this immaculate E Type Jaguar. The lady told me she’s a ’66, and with the original owner yet. She was freshly repainted, and appears to have a few modern updates….. But other than that, she’s a time capsule and an amazing example of an E Type.

The lady was generous enough to let me take a closer look for photos, and I didn’t hesitate to take the offer.

To say my day was made at that point was an understatement. That was the absolute last thing I ever expected to see that day…. Yet, somehow, it’s pretty typical for my life. These kinds of cars always randomly appear in my life, fairly often. It’s a bit eerie, but its also become normal to me. (It used to just happen around my husband, but somehow it happens to me now too.)

While she may have been the highlight, I did score a few vintage treasures that I could take home with me.

I definitely plan on doing more garage saling and hitting up flea markets next year….. Now I’m wondering what kind of cars I may encounter along the way as well.
