Cars X Girl

Miata (Sold)

My Miata will always hold a special place in my heart. She was my first true project, the first car that I modified myself and actually worked hard to get her to where she sits today.

However, it’s not fair to her to go from daily driver/weekend racer status to sitting almost constantly. After not driving her hardly at all over the 2011 summer, I decided it’s better to let her go somewhere she’ll be driven than sitting in my garage.

It’s hard to part ways, but I know she deserved more than what I ended up giving her. We parted ways in February of 2012.

She was a 1997 Montego Blue Mica, my partner for ~50,000 hard but fun miles. She and I got the 2009 Rookie of the Year award in our previous SCCA region, as well as getting a 3rd place trophy in the autocrossing here in Eastern Washington in 2011.

She did my first track day with me, in 2009 at Hallett in Oklahoma.

She will always be special to me, and she will always be my baby. But, like my 240SX, not everything is meant to last… And the last lesson she has to teach me is in learning to let go.

Thanks for the comment. I’m jealous of your rims. Looks like our cars have a fair bit in common.

Awww, thanks. :P So many people love the RPF1′s! I find it funny because they’re just not that expensive… And I had no idea so many people would love wheels that *I* could afford without giving up everything, lol.

Another nice car. Add a hardtop an a 13b. It’d be one of my dream cars.

There’s a friend of ours with an RX-7 who was always joking that I should throw a rotary into the Miata… I told him that if he could make it run as well as what she’s got now, I’m sold. ;) Hard top is definitely something I’m always on the lookout for, because they usually don’t come up cheap. (And nobody seems to want to give me one, sigh.)

That is one badass serious Miata!

  • Meg

Haha, thanks! That’s what I was going for, really. :D (Serious part, lol.)

Where did you get your JDM side markers at?

  • Meg

Ebay, quite some time ago. (Which makes it sad that I haven’t gotten around to adding them to the car yet. I’m not brilliant with wiring, so it’s been rather intimidating.)

Feel like selling that seat and getting an OEM for trade?

Or if you have any spare miata parts to get rid of once the sale is complete… Hit me up! :D

  • Meg

I’m afraid she was sold as was, and I don’t have any spare parts…. Unless you’d want a black RPF1 that needs to be fixed. :P (Has a small bend in the lip.)
