There’s an easy way to sum up my life: Cars, cars, cars. And when there’s some downtime, I can find a way to fill it with more cars….
Last Sunday saw the completion of one tiny 911 project; swapping out her non-OEM fan belt for an OEM one. The one she had was just a bit too long, and while it wasn’t a real issue, we wanted it swapped out for the proper belt anyhow.
A friend was kind enough to lend some barn space and tools for what ended up being a very quick & simple job. So much so that I ended up not doing anything at all.
That night my husband and I finally had a celebratory dinner for our sixth anniversary. Sushi, yummy!
On Monday I made a trip to Walmart, which always involves some Hot Wheels hunting…. I scored the Evasive Motorsports S2000, with Matchbox’s 911 GT3 being my other favorite out of the bunch I got.
Finally, on Tuesday I felt like actually going on a hunt and decided to stop at Kmart on my way to work. I didn’t find many to get, which was a bit sad out of the TONS that were on pegs, but I did get some scores. Aside from a rather old Matchbox Audi RS6 Avant (a car that makes me giggle and that I very much want), I came away with this Boxster….
Clearly a packaging error car. Some people collect these, others won’t because its easy enough to fake. So she’s likely going to stay part of my personal collection. The bonus to me is she’s a Porsche, which of course makes up a large part of my overall collection.
And that is that! I may stop by Kmart again to pick up a few I wasn’t sure if I had and it turned out that I didn’t… Otherwise I’m just trying to get to Saturday, where I’ll be going on my first BMW Club drive with my hubby and our e92 335xi. Should be fun!
